New Premium Schedule in 2026
Effective January 1, 2026, three important changes affecting how premiums are paid:
- Premiums will be paid current, rather than one month in advance. (Ex: Premiums deducted in January 2026 will pay for January 2026 coverage.) This means that health premiums will not be taken from December paychecks (because December 2025 premiums will have been taken in November 2025 paychecks.
- Coverage will end on the last day of the month that the last day worked occurs. (Ex: Last day worked = January 15, 2026, then coverage will end January 31, 2026.)
- Biweekly paid employees will pay premiums on a biweekly basis. (Ex: Health premiums will be divided equally over 26 pay periods)
