Secondary Positions Form

Departments should use the new secondary position form to hire, delimit, or make changes to secondary positions. Secondary positions are for nonexempt Duke employees who are performing work outside of their primary job responsibilities. The position can be within their primary department or with another Duke department. Secondary positions allow Corporate Payroll Services to accurately track and pay all hours worked and ensures that employees are paid overtime if appropriate. As a reminder, a nonexempt Duke employee cannot be provided a lump sum payment in lieu of hourly compensation.
