Assistant Vice President of Staff and Labor Relations
Roberto Campos-Marquetti, J.D. was appointed as the Assistant Vice President of Staff and Labor Relations on December 11, 2023. In this role he is responsible for staff and labor relations for both the University and the Health System including seven collective bargaining units
Prior to joining Duke, Roberto worked in Miami, Florida at the Jackson Health System overseeing its employee and labor relations division for more than 13 years. He first started at Jackson in 2008 and was promoted to Associate Director in 2010 and then to Director in 2016.
Roberto also worked as an employment and labor attorney for more than 25 years. Licensed in the State of New York, he has held positions as a legislative director with the New York State Senate; special prosecutor with the New York City Human Rights Commission; associate counsel with the law firm of O’Dwyer & Bernstein and managing partner of a boutique labor and employment law firm.
Roberto received his Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from Cornell University and his Juris Doctorate from the City University of New York Law School. He is a Senior Certified Professional in the Society for Human Resources Management (SCP-SHRM), Certified as a Just Culture Champion and received certification training from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is also a member of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, as well as the Big Brother Big Sister Program.
