Carol Ann Epling, MD, MSPH, MRO, is the Executive Director of Employee Occupational Health and Wellness (EOHW) and Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
Prior to her first faculty appointment at Duke in 1995, Dr. Epling trained at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver from 1989 to 1995 with a residency in Primary Care-Internal Medicine; a fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and as Assistant Professor of Surgery. She attended University of Virginia’s School of Medicine in Charlottesville and The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.
Dr. Epling’s professional awards and recognitions include:
- Member Residency Advisory Committee University of North Carolina Preventive Medicine Residency, 2001- present.
- Duke University & Health System Blue Ribbon Award for Teamwork, DUHS Universal Influenza Work Group Co-Chair, 2014.
- Duke University Health System Teamwork Award, Isolation Unit for Highly Contagious Illness, 2015.
- Duke University School of Medicine Excellence in Professionalism Award, 2021
