RE: Traffic Alert Due to High School Graduations on Campus
Duke will host several high school graduations on campus next week, which will generate high volumes of vehicle and foot traffic along portions of Science Drive and Towerview Road.
Six area high schools will hold graduation rehearsals and commencement exercises in Cameron Indoor Stadium from Monday, June 11 – Wednesday, June 13. As a result, Science Drive will be closed from Cameron Boulevard (Hwy 751) to the JB Duke Hotel entrance at various times from June 12-13.
Individuals will be able to park in their regular permitted lots during this time, but those who park in the Science Drive garage and Card Gym lot should allow for more time from June 11-13.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Those who need to park in the Public Policy, Whitford Drive. Card Gym or JB Duke Hotel parking lots will need to access the lots via Towerview Road from Erwin Road. Currently, Towerview Road is closed between Duke University Road and Wannamaker Drive until August 17.
Departments should advise any outside visitors coming to campus during these days to allow for extra time for travel and parking. In addition, Rubenstein Pavilion will be closed to the general public on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Hall of Fame and Basketball Museum will be closed to the general public on Tuesday and Wednesday.
