RE:  Hurricane Irma

We continue to closely monitor the track of Hurricane Irma, which is expected to make landfall in Florida this weekend. At this time, it appears the storm’s track has taken a path to the west, and its potential impact on central North Carolina is less than what was originally projected. Rain and high winds are expected Monday evening and into Tuesday, but at this time, we do not anticipate significant affects on operations for Duke.

Teams across Duke, including the Severe Weather Operations Team, continue to meet and make preparations in the event of fluctuations to the path that would impact our area. We will continue to update you as needed.

Thank you for your assistance in communicating with faculty and staff in the event of severe weather.
