New Staff Orientation
Payroll clerks or managers can register employees online for the orientation welcome event. All employees are required to attend orientation. Employees must enroll in health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and reimbursement accounts within 30 days of gaining eligibility.
Learning and Organization Development (L&OD) - part of Duke Human Resources - offers courses in leadership and management development, professional development, and computer software and systems. Seven Certificate Programs are also available so that you can focus on an area of expertise. Courses are held on Duke campus (Central campus area with free parking), and are offered at low-cost rates. A few courses are offered at no cost.

Courses are listed below in alphabetical order. To view the courses broken out by category, go to the table of contents to the left, look under "Course Offerings," and select any of the first three category headings.
To view course descriptions or to register, click any date you are interested in, and the LMS course listing will open up. If you decide to register for the class, select the "Register" button on the right-hand side of the page.
If the class registration period has closed (usually 3-7 business days before the class depending on materials used), we may still be able to register you for a class you are interested in. Please call us at 919-613-7600 or 7613 or write to HR-LOD-Registration@duke.edu.
