Bio:

Pamela Maxson has been at Duke University for 26 years, beginning as a post-doctoral fellow in the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. During her time at Duke, she has been Research Director with the Children's Environmental Health Initiative at the Nicholas School of the Environment and has taught undergraduate classes for Medical Psychiatry and Psychology. In her current role as Senior Staff Director for the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute, she is the Director of Operations for the Duke Center for Community and Population Health Improvement (CCPHI) and for the Center for Health Outcomes and Innovation Research (CHOIR). She focuses on building connections, fostering relationships, and leveraging individual and organizational strengths to improve health and well-being in the community and population.

Pam is a Certified Professional Coach through the Business and Professional Coaching Program at NC State University (2019), a Certified Authentic Leadership Coach through Raleigh Coaching Academy (2016), and is ACC credentialed through the International Coach Federation (2018). She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification (2014). Pam is an executive and leadership coach who focuses on facilitating client understanding and leveraging leadership style (including strengths and development opportunities), maximizing leadership potential, goal and priority setting amidst multiple competing priorities, improving communication, and increasing emotional intelligence.
