Nominations for Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award Due March 16
Nominations for the prestigious Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award are due March 16. The award was established for colleges and universities in the South to honor persons with "fine spiritual qualities and a nobility of character." It will be presented in April to a Duke graduating senior and to a Duke University or Duke Health faculty member, staff person, or graduate/professional student who exhibits the following qualities: recognition of selflessness, generosity of service, nobility of character, person of integrity, and depth of spirituality.
West Main St. to Close for Repairs
Repairs to major city water lines will force West Main Street between North Buchanan Boulevard and Broad Street to close for a week starting Tuesday. There will be no changes to Duke’s C1 bus service, however, the construction work will result in several adjustments to Duke bus routes.
The Art of Making Good Decisions
Good decisions are based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement. Trouble is, people are not all that good at making decisions. They tend to overestimate their ability to make good judgments and are overconfident in forecasting outcomes.
