Voter Registration Deadline, Art Call, Flu Deadline, Mental Fitness
Voter Registration Deadline is Friday, Oct. 9
Duke encourages all faculty, staff and students to participate in the election process. Doing so requires you to be registered. The deadline to register for the general election is Friday, Oct. 9, 2020. If you aren’t sure if you are registered in North Carolina, just visit the N.C. Board of Elections website to check or learn how to submit or change your registration.
Calling Duke Employee Artists
Working@Duke is introducing a new series of stories that will highlight individuals, departments, schools and units that are taking action to better understand and address racial inequities at Duke. Staff and faculty are invited to create a graphic to represent the series. The art should reflect the values and aspirations of Duke as an inclusive community that honors people of color and their experiences and contributions.
Reminder: Flu Vaccination Deadlines Approaching
More than 25,000 employees have already been vaccinated against influenza. Annual vaccination against the flu is required for all University staff and faculty working on-site. The deadline for requesting a medical or religious exemption for the vaccination must be submitted by Monday, Oct. 19. Otherwise, vaccinations must be completed by Nov. 10.
Building Mental Fitness in a Tumultuous World
One in five U.S. adults experience mental illness such as depression, anxiety disorders and other conditions. During a time when many are stressed, angry and worried, several Duke colleagues share the ways they have built mental fitness to deal with stressful or emotional times in a tumultuous world. Read and share this cover story from the April/May issue of Working@Duke that never published.
