TO: Vice Presidents, Vice Provosts, Deans, Directors, Department Heads, and Managers
FROM: Kyle Cavanaugh, Vice President of Administration, Emergency Coordinator
RE: Severe Weather Policy Extended to 7 a.m. Thursday
The severe weather and emergency conditions policy has been extended to 7 a.m. Thursday. A decision about extending the policy further will be made later this afternoon or evening.
All staff in “Essential Service” positions should report to work or remain at work while the policy is in effect. All staff in “Delayed Service” positions should not report to work or remain at work when the policy is in effect. Departments continue their departmental severe weather plans as appropriate.
Members of the Duke community should use priority snow/ice clearing routes to travel to and from campus buildings during winter weather since normal routes may not be cleared yet. For updates on transit routes and parking facilities, monitor the DukeALERT website for the latest changes and modifications.
Thank you for keeping your staff informed and for helping maintain essential operations during this time.
