RE: Duke’s Total Compensation Program
This week full-time faculty and staff will receive their annual personalized benefits statement in the mail at their home address. This statement offers a breakdown of the total financial investment Duke makes in each individual through pay and benefits.
As a supervisor, this annual event offers you an opportunity to reinforce some important messages about Duke’s total compensation package and the value of working at this unique institution where we can make a difference in the lives of our community and the world around us through our work together.
I encourage you to take a few minutes during a staff meeting to let your employees know about the distribution of the benefits statement and maybe ask them what benefit they value most at Duke.
We have developed a Manager Toolkit of support resources to assist you in promoting Duke’s total compensation package. The following materials can be found on the Managers section of the Duke Human Resources website:
- “The Value of Working at Duke” (video for managers)
- “Pieces of the Pie: Understanding Your Personal Benefits Statement” (video for employees)
- Financial Fitness Week schedule
- Duke Appreciation events
- Benefit summaries
Duke will also be hosting Financial Fitness Week from May 21-24 to offer faculty, staff and their family members information about the retirement plan redesign and webinars and workshops on other financial and investment topics. You can find a full description of the workshops and resources available on the Duke Human Resources website.
If you have questions about Duke’s benefit programs or the upcoming events, please contact the Human Resources Information Center at 919-684-5600. Thank you.
