Conducting Virtual Performance Reviews

During what has turned out to be a highly unusual spring, I want to bring your attention to one of our usual, but important processes – the annual performance review and planning discussion.

Because we have a large percentage of University staff working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, Duke Human Resources will be hosting free webinars for supervisors to provide guidance and support for conducting virtual performance reviews. These sessions will provide an overview of the performance review process, resources to support virtual meetings, and tips for successful discussions.

These discussions should continue according to the normal process and schedules for schools and departments. Register to participate in one of these webinars on April 30 at 9 a.m. or 2 p.m. These sessions will also be recorded for those who cannot attend the live events.

Please consult with your respective HR representative regarding school or department guidelines for submitting performance ratings, which are one element used to determine eligibility for the lump sum payments announced earlier this month.
