Duke faculty and staff, and their immediate family members are eligible for the Personal Assistance Service (PAS) at no charge. Staff at PAS are licensed professionals who offer assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals to help resolve a range of personal, work, and family problems. You do not to be enrolled in Duke’s medical plans to use this employee assistance program.
Duke offers both outpatient and inpatient mental health and substance abuse benefits under each of our medical plans. Mental health and substance abuse benefits are administered through Cigna Behavioral Health.
In adherence to the federal Mental Health Parity regulations, Duke has removed the limits on inpatient and outpatient mental health care from in-network providers for all four medical plans.
For Duke Options, the limit on out-of-network visits has also been removed.
For more information, please see the Summary Plan Description.
