Duke is proud to celebrate the dedication and contributions of our career service award recipients. 

Duke’s Career Service Award Program recognizes eligible staff and faculty who reach career milestones beginning at five years of service, in five‑year increments. Eligible celebrants are recognized during their celebration year, rather than on the specific date of their continuous service anniversary.

Information for 2026 Career Service Award recipients will begin shipping in June 2026. Shipments will be staggered, so please allow ample time for your award information to arrive.

Career Service Award Program Details

Eligible staff or faculty celebrating a five-year anniversary in 2026 will receive a presentation box that contains a Lucite frame with certificate and a customized key chain without placing an order.
 

  • The 5-year award will begin shipping in June to the home address of all eligible 5-year celebrants. Shipping is staggered. Please allow ample time for orders to be transported. 
     
  • If you have not received your 5-year gift by July 31, 2026, or if you have questions about your 5-year award, contact the O.C. Tanner Administration Team. Their contact information can be found under "O.C. Tanner Recognition Company Contact Information" on this webpage.
     
  • Eligible 2026 5-year celebrants will have until 12/31/26 to receive their gift.

Eligible staff or faculty members celebrating an anniversary of 10 or 15 years in 2026 will receive a certificate, congratulatory letter, and ordering instructions on how to choose a symbolic gift for their service year level. 10 and 15-year anniversary levels have the choice to select one of two symbolic gift options.

  • Selection packets, for eligible 10 and 15-year celebrants, include the certificate, congratulatory letter, and online ordering instructions. The selection packets will begin shipping in June to the home address of all eligible celebrants. The selected gift will also ship to the celebrant's home address. Shipping is staggered. Please allow ample time for orders to be transported. 
     
  • Once you receive your selection packet, you may place your order using the ordering link found under "Placing Your Order" on this webpage.
     
  • If you have not received your selection packet by July 31, 2026, or if you have questions about placing your order, contact the O.C. Tanner Administration Team. Their contact information can be found under "O.C. Tanner Recognition Company" on this webpage.
     
  • Eligible 2026 10- or 15-year celebrants will have until 12/31/26 to select a symbolic gift.

Eligible staff or faculty members celebrating an anniversary of 20 years and above (in 5-year increments) in 2026 will have the opportunity to select a gift to recognize their years of service.

  • Selection packets, for eligible 20 years and above celebrants, include the certificate, congratulatory letter, and online ordering instructions. The selection packets will begin shipping in June to the home address of all eligible celebrants. The selected gift will also ship to the celebrant's home address. Shipping is staggered. Please allow ample time for orders to be transported. 
     
  • Those celebrating a milestone of 20 years and above will be able to view items within both jewelry and non-jewelry categories before deciding on their gift selection. Within the custom jewelry category, celebrants may choose a Duke lapel pin or charm as their gift. At the beginning of each level of awards, The "Duke Collection" award group can be found with a "D" in the selection code, as in 030D - the Duke insignia will be offered with the award item. Only the "Duke Collection" items will feature the Duke insignia. The gift selection options vary based on years of service.

IMPORTANT: To access the site, you will need the personal access number included in the selection packet mailed by O.C. Tanner Recognition Company.

If you have questions about placing your order or need assistance with shipping, please contact the O.C. Tanner Administration Team:

  • Must be celebrating a milestone of five or more years of continuous service, in five-year increments, during the 2026 celebration year.
  • Must work 20 hours or greater and be in a benefits eligible position
  • Contract workers, casual labor, temporary employees, post docs and house staff are ineligible
  • Staff and faculty on a leave of absence more than one year are ineligible
  • Staff and faculty with a zero rate of pay are ineligible
  • Staff and faculty listed as inactive in SAP are ineligible
  • Eligible celebrants in 2026 will have until December 31, 2026, to place an order.

**Individuals on leave for more than one year are not eligible for the career service award program.
