The PERQS Discount Program connects Duke’s active regular staff and faculty with discounts on goods and services for personal use. The discount platform advertises select businesses from independently owned and regional businesses, including many in the Triangle and others across the United States. Duke University and Duke University Health System do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee the quality of any products or services provided by participating vendors.

IMPORTANT: Duke’s PERQS Discount Program features only non‑national brand businesses. National brand offers for Duke employees are provided exclusively through Working Advantage.

If you represent a national brand and would like to offer discounts to Duke staff and faculty, please submit your offer directly to Working Advantage for consideration—if you do not already have an established relationship. You may do so by visiting their partner page at https://www.workingadvantage.com/partner.php  or by contacting them at partnerships@workingadvantage.com. Questions about advertising on their platform should be directed to Working Advantage.

If you represent a non‑national brand business, please review the process, requirements, and restrictions below. If your business meets the program criteria, you may submit your offer for consideration in Duke’s PERQS Discount Program.

Submission Process & Requirements

Before submitting an offer, please review the Requirements and Restrictions carefully.

Staff & Family Programs conducts an independent review of prospective and participating vendors through the Better Business Bureau (BBB). All vendors must be listed with the BBB with an "A" rating. Restaurant and food vendors must have a current sanitation grade of 90 or higher.

Participation in the PERQS Program does not constitute Duke University or Duke University Health System's endorsement of any vendor’s products or services.

All offers must be submitted via the online link found below under the "Submit An Offer" section on this page.

The PERQS Program features either:

  • minimum 10% discount, with no minimum purchase, for an annual commitment, or
  • minimum 20% discount, with no minimum purchase, for a limited-time or time-sensitive offer.
  • Businesses must be listed and maintain an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau. Accreditation is not required. Vendors whose rating drops below an “A” will be removed from the program.
  • Restaurant and food vendors must have a current sanitation grade of 90 or higher. Vendors falling below this threshold will be removed from the program.

Additional requirements include:

  • Vendors offering a 10% discount are listed on the PERQS website and distributed through the PERQS email listserv, reaching more than 20,000 Duke faculty and staff.
  • Vendors offering a short-term 20% discount are promoted via the PERQS email listserv, reaching more than 20,000 recipients. A maximum of two (2) short-term offers per vendor per calendar year is allowed (one every six months). Repeat offers may not be identical to previously advertised offers.
  • Discounts must be applied at the time of purchase (no rebates, gift cards, or refunds).
  • All submissions must include a contact name, email address, and phone number. Vendors are responsible for notifying Staff & Family Programs of any changes. Vendors without valid email contact information will be removed.
  • Offers must be submitted exactly as they should appear when advertised, including all applicable restrictions. Approved vendors must notify Staff & Family Programs of any changes to the offer.
  • Vendors must require presentation of a valid Duke ID at the time of purchase. If a discount is available online only, the
offer must include a unique access code and will be listed as a secure offer on the PERQS website, accessible to Duke faculty and staff via Duke NetID and password.
  • Discounts must be available to staff and faculty of Duke including Duke University, Duke University Medical Center, Duke University Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Health Lake Norman and all affiliated Duke
entities presenting a valid Duke ID badge.
  • Products or services may not duplicate or compete with existing Duke University or Health System benefits.
  • The PERQS discount program does not advertise:
    • Apartment rentals or apartment communities — Please visit Duke's Chronicle regarding advertising your rental.
    • Real estate agents, real estate companies, contractors, or builders
    • Mortgage companies, financial institutions, or independent financial services
    • Independent distributors
    • Travel agencies, travel companies, or travel packages
    • Nightclubs or bars
    • Professional services (e.g., accountants, law firms, financial advisors)
    • Transportation services, including taxi and limousine services
    • Fitness facilities, except Duke fitness facilities (non-Duke facilities should contact the Live for Life program regarding the Duke Fitness Club)

Please note: This is not a comprehensive list of restrictions. All offers are subject to review and approval to determine their suitability for PERQS advertising. Staff & Family Programs reserves the right to reject or discontinue any discount offered by a business at any time. Discounts may also be discontinued if a negative Better Business Bureau (BBB) report is identified or if substantiated complaints are received by Staff & Family Programs or any Duke University or Duke University Health System entity.

Before submitting an offer, please review the Requirements and Restrictions carefully.

Businesses must complete and submit the Employee Discounts Vendor Registration Form to submit an offer for consideration.

All offers are reviewed by Staff & Family Programs, a division of Duke University Human Resources. Once a decision is made, a response will be sent to the email address provided on the registration form. Please allow up to seven (7) business days for a response.
