Documenting Employee Performance

Objectives:

Examine the two types of documenting that managers/supervisors use. Informal documentation is for the manager's/supervisor's own records and allows the manager/supervisor to proactively prevent problems. Formal documentation is required by policy when disciplinary or other administrative action is necessary to address performance. Workshop objectives:

  • understand the necessity for record-keeping
  • learn organizational compliance
  • develop skills in informal and formal documentation
  • learn about available resources

  • None
