What is the StairWELL to Health Challenge?
The StairWELL Health Challenge is an incentive program for
Duke employees to help them become more physically active and
improve their health, while earning cool prizes.
How does it work?
Employees will keep a log of how many stairs they climb daily,
as they attempt to reach personal and pre-determined levels,
established by LIVE FOR LIFE. Daily progress will be recorded
in personal log books or recorded on-line as each level is
completed. StairWELL log books will be supplied by LIVE FOR
LIFE. Completed levels from the logbooks will be turned in
to the LIVE FOR LIFE in the following ways: In person at the
LIVE FOR LIFE office, Duke Hospital Mail Box, or on-line on
Stair-WELL tracking web page, or fax 684-1852.

Level One: Bank of America Building - 869ft. (StairWELL Challenge T-shirt)
Level Two: Sears Tower – 1453ft (Plastic Divider Dish)
Level Three: Wallace Wade Stadium - 2,916ft. (Ruler with Calculator)
Level Four: Mount St. Helens - 4500ft. (Water Bottle)
Level Five: Grandfather Mountain - 5,964ft. (Lunch Bag)
Level Six: Pike’s Peak - 14,110ft. (Tubing Exercise Ropes)
Level Seven: Mt. Everest - 29,098ft. (Shoulder Tote Bag)

How do I sign up?
- Visit www.hr.duke.edu/stairwell/register.html to complete the online
registration.
- Call LIVE FOR LIFE Office 684-3136 (option 1)
- Visit the LIVE FOR LIFE Office, 0429 Duke South Clinc
8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., M-F (except Wednesdays-12:00 p.m. to
2:00 p.m.)
Are there prizes?
Yes. All employees who submit logs will receive LIFE FOR
LIFE prizes when each level is completed, or can opt for LIVE
FOR LIFE dollars.
Where can I track my stair use?
Participants will record their stair usage in the log book
and submit completed levels via the web, campus mail, FAX,
or in person. Participants will receive their “level
prizes” via campus mailbox or may pick up in person
at the LIVE FOR LIFE office.
What is eHealth?
eHealth is a free, personal wellness web site offered by LIVE
FOR LIFE that enables Duke faculty and staff to track their
progress toward their health and fitness goals online. eHealth
offers a range of features including personalized home pages,
health trackers, and health information that can help employees
make effective decisions about their health care. You will
also find automated daily health calendars, online diaries,
and cardio and workout logs where you can keep track of important
health appointments and information.
How do I begin using eHealth?
- Visit www.hr.duke.edu/ehealth
- Click on “Login?” on left side of page
- Follow the instructions for Sign In
- Use your 7-digit Unique ID as your User name if first
time signing in
- If 7 digits, correct
- If only 7 digits, add an extra zero to front of number
- If number starts with 9, omit the 9
- Use same 7 digit ID for password
- Change your password after first time signing in
- You are all set, just be sure to write your user name
and password in a safe place for next time!

- Click on Health Tracker
- Select your health measurements and record your measurements.
