Help Duke build a winning team of nurses and collect a special incentive. Duke faculty and staff are eligible for a $5,000 award for referring a nurse
to work at one of Duke's hospitals. See rules below.
While you can refer a nurse at any time, now is a perfect time to act because on August 3 - 4, 2008, Duke Medicine will host its second annual national
Nursing Expo. If you know an experienced nurse, encourage them to attend the Expo for an inside look into Duke's
hospitals and the opportunity to interview for nursing positions.
After you tell your friends in nursing about the Expo, complete a Nurse Referral Form and return it to Nursing Recruitment via
campus mail, Box 3714, or fax it to 919-681-7397.
Rules
- Faculty and staff of Duke University and Health System are eligible to refer a nurse to Duke.
- The Nurse Referral Program applies only to nurses hired at Duke University Hospital, Durham Regional Hospital and Duke Raleigh Hospital.
- The Nurse Referral Form must be submitted before a position is offered to the referred nurse.
- The Nurse Referral Form is valid for one year. After a year, if the referred nurse is not hired, the form is null and void.
- If the same nurse is referred more than once, only the first referral is accepted and eligible for the $5,000 incentive.
- The $5,000 incentive is contingent upon the referred nurse's acceptance of a job offer. It is paid out in installments ($2,500 after the referred nurse has completed their 90-day trial period,
and $2,500 after a year of continuous service).
