University staff are encouraged to report fraud, waste, and mismanagement to Duke’s Internal Audit Office. This office maintains a hotline (800-849-9793) offering a completely confidential means to report these and other forms of misconduct. The Internal Audit Office assures that:

• All information taken through the hotline is for official use only;
• Each caller who assists Duke by providing further contact information will continue to remain completely anonymous;
• All allegations received by the hotline will be carefully reviewed by the Internal Audit Office in order to determine the most appropriate course of action;
• There will be absolutely no retaliation or retribution for any staff calling the hotline.
