Are you having a hard time finding fresh vegetables? Tired of finding bruised fruits and long lines at your local grocer? Visit the LIVE FOR LIFE Farmers Market and get the freshest, best tasting fruits and vegetables available!

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Scan your Duke ID as you enter the market for a chance to win door prizes including a gift basket of fruits and vegetables and Got to be NC promotional items or Dream Dinners thermal bags for food transportation.

Pick up a healthy, hearty lunch. The Duke Chapter of Nourish International will sponsor a Hunger Lunch. For only $4, purchase all the rice, beans and cornbread you can eat. Or purchase lunch from The Picnic Basket or Jason's Deli. Local farmers will be at the market selling a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Enjoy live music. Duke's Carolyn Satterfield, clinic service coordinator in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, will sing a variety of traditional and gospel music, beginning at noon.

Check out the Got to be NC Big Cart - a shopping cart 13 feet high and 15 feet wide - provided by the N.C. Department of Agriculture, who will also have recipes, pens and notepads available.

Duke Farmers Market shopping bags will be given to those who complete a survey about the Farmers Market. Surveys will be available at the market. The bags are reusable and are great for carrying produce from the market to your table.
