8th Annual Duke Farmers Market

Planning for the 2009 Duke Farmers Market Season — the 9th year at Duke

During October, the LIVE FOR LIFE team is gathering comments and suggestions from Duke employees about the 2009 Season of the Duke Farmers Market. Farmers and vendors are meeting this month to tell about expected growing seasons for fruits and vegetables and to schedule their booths for next year.

The Farmers Market offers a wide variety of produce and recipes to help you get the number of servings of fruits and vegetables you need to be healthy. Each week's produce is collected from participating farmers for free drawings. Each market also offers healthy lunch vendors.

The Duke Farmers Market began in 2001, and is sponsored by LIVE FOR LIFE. The market servers as a sustainable method to provide Duke faculty and staff with fresh, locally-grown produce.
