Duke Recognized as a Best Employer

Manager Information:
Employee Recognition
Manager Information: Employee Recognition Have you ever received praise from your boss in front of a group of colleagues? Did you have a supervisor that took your team out to lunch to celebrate the completion of a big project? If so, you understand how it feels to be thanked and appreciated.

Consistent, timely, and meaningful rewards and recognition do not need to be costly or time consuming, but they should be a priority, as employee recognition is one of the leading factors contributing to employee satisfaction and motivation. Click here to view some suggestions that supervisors can use to show appreciation for the hard work being done by employees at Duke.

Duke Appreciation - May 2008

Together, we have accomplished much this year. We welcomed more than 1,700 first year students in August and will confer approximately 4,000 degrees on undergraduate and graduate students in May. We provided care for more than 61,000 inpatient admissions and 1.4 million outpatient visits. Faculty and staff also rallied to drastically reduce water use in response to one of the worst droughts in Durham history.

To celebrate these and our many other accomplishments throughout the year, we set aside time to recognize the dedication and commitment of the people who work at Duke and make this such a special place. During Duke Appreciation 2008, we offer a number of activities and opportunities for the Duke community to come together and celebrate.

You are encouraged to attend Duke Appreciation events and enjoy the activities held in your honor. We look forward to seeing you!
